Brown Grease

Brown Grease is produced in established rendering industries through a recognized rendering process and is typically comprised of used cooking oil and often contains rendered low quality animal fats with higher Free Fatty Acids than a yellow grease which has a maximum of 15% Free Fatty Acid. Generally brown grease has the following specification: Minimum Free Fatty Acid content of 16% and MIU 2%, often with 1% max water.
